The Health Strategic Planning and Training Committee

The Health Strategic Planning and Training Committee is responsible for drafting the national health strategy for the Kingdom of Bahrain and presenting it to the Supreme Council of Health. The committee also studies the future needs of the Kingdom for health services and performs the following tasks:

Determining the number of families and their distribution among government health institutions.

Identifying the number of healthcare personnel, their specialties, and supervising their preparation and training according to international standards.

Determining the number of new medical specialties needed by health services in the kingdom.

Proposing a plan to develop health services to keep pace with scientific and technological progress, in collaboration and coordination with the National Information Center for Health Knowledge Management.

Studying health investment opportunities in the kingdom and preparing a health sector investment plan to be presented to the Supreme Council of Health.

Proposing and implementing health plans for the public and private health sectors in the kingdom to meet future requirements and achieve the vision of Bahrain 2030.

Developing and implementing a training plan for all medical personnel in the Kingdom at all stages of training.

Collaborating with universities in the Kingdom to study their training programs and ensure their adequacy to meet future medical training needs.

Expressing opinions and presenting recommendations to the Supreme Council of Health regarding training programs in the Kingdom.

Coordinating with relevant government agencies involved in health planning and training to ensure the integration of training plans for the health sector and to verify their alignment with the vision of Bahrain 2030 and the commitment of these agencies to it.

Coordinating with international organizations, particularly the World Health Organization, regarding training programs.

Monitoring indicators and sustainable development goals in the health sector in the Kingdom.

Studying reports submitted by the National Center for Health Information and Knowledge Management.
