His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health and Head of the National Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response Team, made an inspection visit to Salmaniya Medical Complex this morning in accordance with his keenness to follow up on the level of health services provided to citizens and residents.
At the beginning of the visit, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa valued the continuous support from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and expressed gratitude to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy to the Supreme Commander and the Deputy Prime Minister, for their constant follow-up of all efforts being made by the united Bahraini team to enhance the health and safety of everyone.
During the visit, His Excellency the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health praised the great and exceptional efforts made by all health sector members. He expressed appreciation for the responsible attitudes of the medical staff who put themselves at the forefront of serving their country and people, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, where they showed dedication, sincerity, hard work, and continuous effort to provide the best services to all, according to the best global standards, and were highly appreciated by the World Health Organization.
His Excellency emphasized the importance of maintaining the advanced level of healthcare achieved by the Kingdom of Bahrain and stated that the government is making every effort to support and enhance the health sector. Everyone has benefited from this support through the advanced level of healthcare, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
His Excellency the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health urged to keep up with the latest advancements and updates in the treatment of patients, providing the latest equipment and methods. He emphasized that efforts should continue to further develop and update healthcare services in the kingdom, in line with the latest international standards in this field.
His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa stated that the government is keen to eliminate all obstacles to improve the healthcare sector in the kingdom and its development, by providing it with qualified medical and nursing staff, and supplying hospitals and healthcare centers with all the necessary medical equipment, medicines and latest technologies in the field of medicine and treatment. The aim is to expand healthcare facilities to provide the best means of prevention and treatment to citizens and residents.
During the visit, His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Latif Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, along with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of government hospitals, His Excellency Sheikh Hisham bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, the Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Health, Mr. Ibrahim Al-Nawakhtha, the Executive Director of government hospitals, Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari, and Dr. Mohammed Al-Shaaban from the Supreme Health Council, conducted an inspection tour of the facilities and checked on the latest developments in treating patients, including those with COVID-19.
Afterwards, the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health reviewed the project to expand the emergency department at Salmaniya Medical Complex. This expansion project is part of the self-management plan to ensure the health and safety of patients in this vital department.
His Excellency the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health inspected various departments of the building and viewed the latest equipment and facilities that contribute to the government's strategy for developing healthcare services in different stages. He also viewed the new helicopter landing project in the complex.
On a related note, His Excellency visited the Equipment and Medicine Management and storage warehouses to ensure the availability of medicine and various medical materials. He emphasized on improving monitoring procedures to guarantee the safe and efficient delivery of medicine, in accordance with the law. The safety of the medicine stored in the warehouses was also ensured, and all necessary facilities were provided to hospitals and health centers.
His Excellency discussed the latest developments in the implementation of the Self-Management Program in Salmaniya Medical Complex with the Board of Trustees, the administrative team and the project team. He emphasized the importance of working on the development of healthcare services in line with government directives to create a qualitative shift in healthcare services through the application of self-management in hospitals, as part of the comprehensive development of healthcare services within the framework of the Health Insurance Program.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Governmental Hospitals, His Excellency Sheikh Hisham bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, expressed his deepest thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the chairman of the Supreme Council of Health for his kind visit to the Salmaniya Medical Complex, appreciating the support of the esteemed government to improve health services in its various preventive, diagnostic, curative and rehabilitative aspects.
He stressed that what the Kingdom of Bahrain has achieved in terms of high and advanced health services would not have been possible without the wise directives of the wise leadership, appreciating in this regard the visit of His Excellency the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health and his close follow-up and generous directives to provide the best health services to citizens and residents on the land of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
